  1.     All  of  the pictures in this directory were created with a greater
  2. than  256  colour  palette.   Each picture has been rendered in a number of
  3. different resolutions, in an effort to cater to all tastes.  Each different
  4. resolution drawer contains a complete set of pictures.

  6.     Each pictures is stored as a standard IFF24 ILBM, and can therefore
  7. be  loaded by TrueBrilliance, ADPro, Mand2000 or any other program that can
  8. read  24-bit  IFF  images.

  10.     None  of  the  images  are  stored in HAM, HAM8 or 256 colour modes
  11. because  the  number  of  different  versions  would  be  too great and too
  12. wasteful,  and  because  Mand2000  can load and display IFF24 images on all
  13. machines.

  15.     Each  picture file also contains location information, so that you
  16. can  load  these pictures into Mand2000 (just double click on the picture's
  17. icon  to  run  Mand2000  and  load  it in) and continue exploring from that
  18. location.   Also saved with each picture is the iteration data - the actual
  19. raw  fractal  data  used  to  colour the pictures.  This means that you can
  20. change  the  palette, the number of colours, the number of iterations, even
  21. the  rendering  mode,  and the pictures will redraw almost instantaneously,
  22. without  having to recalculate.  However, once you change the resolution or
  23. start exploring, a recalc will be necessary.

  25.     The  one exception to all this is the FrameStore images.  These are
  26. stored, oddly enough, as Toaster FrameStores, for use with the NewTek Video
  27. Toaster.  As such, they don't have any location or iteration information in
  28. them.

  30.     The  ARexx  script  calcsequence.mnd2  was used to calculate all of
  31. these pictures in all these resolutions automatically.
